YO!
ok, pull the batty and have a pal take you to local parts store; Napa or AZ, etc and get a free battery check
they have testers that put a load on the batty to test it
while remov. batty, check all batty connectors; if whitish powder is on them, use baking soda & water , brush it on termianls/conductor and then rinse off..wear saftey glasses, etc.
then clean terminals...I use a brass brush, use a cardbd nail file or anything since you need to save $
then do same for all ground connections and + cables to starter, solenoid, fame, engine...won't see white powder there, but check for tightness and any signs of grome, etc.
for your speedo (called Programmable Speedometer Odometer Module (PSOM)
check Fuse Box for blown fuse; could be other thAngs too; if you get a batty charge or have to buy a new batty (try a local yard if you need to save $ now or can't afford a new batty); and it starts go to at AutoZone, etc. & get a free Diagnostic Trouble Code Scan; did you have a CEL lights?
Could also be bad connector/sensor @ exciter on rear axle.
But the bad smell could be a short somewhere; expect the PSOM fuse to be blown; then trace wiring under strg colums for signs of burnt wiring.
Can't guess much more from here
gl and please come back here and ask or post more info!

Then I tried to start it back up again and it did nothing. So I called my friend to come jump it for me. We connected our batteries and I started the engine with no problem. But still on my way home the speedometer was still at zero. So I parked it in front of my house, turned off the engine, tried to start it and nothing happened. So I came into my house and now I am here at this website telling this story. Also about 2 hours prior to this incedent my truck had a horrible smell like really stinky ass feet.
NOTE* I am about 200 miles from getting an oil change. If that helps at all.
I asked around on the computer on AIM and I was told it could be my fuse box or my battery is almost done or some other stuff.
I'm sixteen years old and I'm worried what's wrong with my truck. My father asked if I've been popping the clutch (which I'm told not to do, and which I have done a few times) so I am hoping that popping the clutch is not why my truck is doing this. Can someone please help me out?
Thanks in advance. |
