Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default 00 F350 Vehicle Speed Sensor Change?

My scanner showed a code 500, VSS fail and I had the classic ABS, Service Engine Soon and flashing O/D lights. I'm not a mechanical failure and bought a CD Ford Manual on EBay. This section had no pcitures and a brief how to that made little sense. It said the unit was under the air bag and the part I got from Napa may fit, but looks biccer than something that would in the steering wheel and under an air bag.

Any help would be apprecited.

If you are looking for the vss its not in the steering wheel, Its located on top of the rearend. Check the wiring and when you remove the sensor see if there is small fillings on it. This controls the abs(rabs) cruise and speedodometer. This sensor also controls the shifting of the trans,(overdrive light flashing)
