Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default Diesel questions

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying an older diesel. The one i'm looking at now is a international engine? 1994 F-250. I have a few questions about this. I don't know very much about diesels, whis is why i have questions. what is the difference between an international and a powerstroke? also the truck is not a turbo diesel, just N/A. How hard would it be to get a turbo kit installed for this if i do decide to buy? the truck wihtout a turbo seems to sluggish for my preference. any opinions or information are welcome thanks

The 8th digit in the VIN is the engine designation. These are all made by International.

vin F is the powerstroke
vin K is turbo IDI
vin M is non-turbo IDI

The one you are looking at (M) can be upgraded to a (K) with all the parts from the heads up including the exhaust...big job!

I have a 96 Powerstroke ....it's best choice IMO....that might be a predjudiced opinion
