i have an 09 F-250 with the 6.4 diesel engine.. If i were to install a cold air intake system, what would the pros and cons be? I say cons having the dusty envirnment the truck is normally running in in mind.
Most aftermarket CAI's will have the same filtering capability.
I doubt you would see any gains with a CAI. It's a great supporting mod if you decide to turn up the wick with larger injectors and/or programming. Allowing more air into the engine will keep the EGT's manageable.
EGT = Exhaust Gas Temps.
Same thing goes for the exhaust if you are planning one of those too.
I put one on my brothers and it breaths awsome, more air flow but without a tuning you want tell a difference, maybe little better mileage other than that naw but program and big difference!
yeah i recently put the SCT race tuner and removed the DPF and the cat on the rig and the power difference/mileage is amazing... are you saying that because i have a tuner, the CAI would have more of a positive effect than if i was installing in on a stock truck?
