Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. Default Just picked up F-150

Well, I just picked up a 1987 F-150 today. It has the 4.9L inline 6 motor, and runs great. No pictures of it, as it is dark out now.

I have to say, I'm impressed with how well it runs for it's age, and can't believe how well it rides!

It has a couple of things I need to work out..primarily that the brights are stuck on, but nothing major. Overall, I'm a happy camper now!

Took some pictures of it tonight..there not too great, but it give an idea of what it is like.

I've decided to nickname it "The General"
I'm planning on painting it black, or possibly olive drab..if I do olive drab, I'm going to put 5 white stars about an inch tall each under the drivers window...

Not sure what I will to yet, though.

Here are the pictures..rainy day, dark, cell phone. Soo..they aren't great.

Good luck with it Charlie!
A lot of guys love that 4.9L engine, it gets decent gas mileage too.

I had a 92, F150, 4x4, 4.9, automatic I bought it in 94 with 46,000 miles. I put over 150,000 miles on it (200,000 when I sold it) and besides normal routine maintnence, the only thing I did was new valve guide seals. I "LOVE" that truck/engine. IMO one of the best.
