Ford F - SeriesThe Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.
Well, I've done it now...I picked up another F-150 on Friday. What is this one? Well, it's a '95 regular cab, long bed. It has the 300 straight six (4.9L) motor, tied with the 5spd transmission. It is in great shape overall, except a little bit of front end damage. Once I replace the front turn signal, it won't really be noticeable, just a few small scratches, which hopefully will buff out. It's only got 94k miles, and runs strong. It also has the hard top cover, which although will be annoying at times, I like, because I can lock stuff in the bed, as well as keeping stuff clean and dry (that is the main thing I don't like about pickups, is that there isn't much "dry" storage space. Well, now I have plenty of that! It also has nice aluminum wheels, with 31" BFG tires. Here it is.. (not the best picture, taken from cell phone while parked up against my house, so I can't really back away from it..)
I liked the '87 so much, I decided to get another I just wanted one that was a little nicer..which I now have.
The damages to my wallet for the truck - $1000. Which, if I do say so myself, is pretty good.
The one major thing I didn't realize at the time I got it..which does bother me...is that it doesn't have cruise control. I'm going to have to figure out if there is some way I can rig it up, otherwise, I guess I will just have to live with it.

Its kinda sad to see that you can get such a nice truck for just a $1000.
How much does a wii system cost these days?
Good luck with it Charlie!

Well, I got it cheap because the owner passed away, and the family was trying to get rid of things quickly. It runs good overall, but has an occasional miss...not sure what it is, but I don't think it's a big deal. I've replaced the plugs and wires, but that didn't take care of it. Either way, it's not a big deal, just mildly annoying..
I can't imagine it will be tough to fix. Fuel filter is next on my list to take care of it..
Some better pictures of it..and showing the damage..it's not bad, but replacing that front turn/parking lamp is on my "to do" list.

Looks like a great truck and in great shape. I had an 1986 and put over 200,000 miles on it . Never had any problems other than normal maintenance.I now have a 2002 ford 150, and have had lots of problems, and it was new, when I purchased it.
Hope you have good luck with this one.It looks like a winner. Pacific pete
That's a really nice truck for a grand. I've found a couple for sale around here, but not that nice for that little. Enjoy. If you can get a complete cruise control setup of a donor truck, steering wheel, relays, harness, probadly computer also, you should be able to set it up in your truck. Not really a project I'd want to tackle.
I know there are some aftermarket cruise controls available, which I don't believe are all that hard to hook up..that's what I'll be looking into soon...
Although, honestly, I'm getting more used to driving on the freeway without cruise...it doesn't bother me as much anymore that it doesn't have it. Still would be nice to have, if I could get something set up somewhat easily and cost effectively.
