Ford F - SeriesThe Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.
I had to get a Holley replacement for the original Motorcraft. I found out Edelbrock doesn't make a 2 bbl carb in a 600cfm. Stock 500 is fine for now. Does the stock Holley 500cfm have to be adjusted also (mixture screws)?
Thanks again.
yes you will have to adj. the screws (you may have to adj. the choke, cold) for the temp gage look to see if the wiring is touching the block when you ground the wire it will make the gage go to hot.
Ended up with a holley 2bbl, 500cfm. Do I need all these D@$#! vacuum lines? The original had about 6 or 7 lines coming off it. The new carb has 3. One for the pcv valve, one for electric choke, and one more spot I can't figure out. Can I tie or tee these lines into each other? Which ones do I use and plug off the others? The truck fires right up, runs for about two minutes, then dies. I figure definitely a vacuum line or too many tied into each other. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Anyone out there know how difficult it is to install longtube headers on a 79 f250 supercab 4x4? Do the header bolts usually snap off on a truck this old? Got the headers and glasspacks, just need to get them on. Should a service shop attempt this or can I pop them on myself? Thanks.
Sound like it's running out of fuel.Check the float level.

Depends on the header & what kind of engine.Could be a real job.The exhaust manifold bolts are bad to either break off or round the head off the bolt.Bad & badder. They tend to come out a bit easier if they are hot(run the engine a bit or use a butane torch to apply a LITTLE,not red hot heat.
