Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default 76' F250 Help?

I recently bought a 76 f250 custom 4x4 to have something to tinker around with on my spare time. I was out messing with it today and I can't get it out of 4wd.

The front drive shaft on the truck still turns no matter where the shifter is. This is the first ford i've had. it seems to me that the shifter should move a lot more than it does. i can't even get it to go into nutural. its like its stuck into 4wd high. Its a 4sp manual.

ANy help?

thanks.

it all depends does your transfer case shifter move or not it its moving than check under the truck at the linkages. them trucks are all mechanical driven no electric in the transfer case so it you can feel it moving between gears and good. also your front drive shaft will move if you dont have manaul locking hubs. if they are automatic locking than I cant tell ya.
but if your gears are really stiff drain all your fluids and go with a sinthetic. royal purpal or something like that it will really help with the changing of 4x4 to 2x4
