Ford FairlaneFord Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.
I am new here and do not own a fairlane right now. but there is one for sale i might trade a 89 mustang coupe for. It is a 2 door fairlane 500 with a 4 speed. Just wanted to know is that tranny the same one used in mustangs a 4 speed toploader? I try to find out as much as i can before i get a vehicle. They told me that motor and trns were rebuilt not long ago. and there is small rust. over all the car if in far condition i have not seen in person. Any info on things to look for good/bad would be a great help when i go look in person. Also he told me the motor looks stock. i ran the VIN and it said a 260.
