Ford Fairlane Ford Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.

It did take some modification to make it fit. Because it has a larger diameter, it required that I replace/modify the heater hose elbow on my Edelbrock Air-gap manifold. I'm not sure how it would be with a stock manifold. Because of the height difference, I had to add a 2" air cleaner spacer. The air cleaner is VERY close to the hood now but not touching. It will be fine once I get a 427 hood for it though!
As I set the timing, I began to realize how much of an improvement it is over my worn out points distributor. A few revs and I couldn't believe it. The power increase and overall running is amazing. This is probably the single best upgrade I have done to my 302! And only one wire! And no more coil! I'll try to post pics soon.
I have the same setup on my mustang but havent found the right heater hose outlet elbow. Where did you find an elbow that worked for your application?

I had to manufacture one to fit. I fit several parts together that I found at a local Kragen. I went through 3 other parts stores and a Home Depot to finally find all required parts behind the counter at Kragen. Pain in the A$$. Then I used a grinder to cut down the length of the treads that went into the manifold to make it set lower, and ground the side to clearance the bottom of the distributor. It was a pain but definitely worth it.
