Ford FairlaneFord Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.
Can anyone give me any help with an issue I have? I'd like to use some old crager mags I have on the rear of my 65 Fairlane. They are 14 inch x6 and I have some BFGoodrich tires (70s) on the wheels. Problem......I have stiff leaf springs and air shocks to keep the tires from rubbing and it makes the car ride like a truck. Is there a way to shorten the axles so the tires clear the fender walls so I can put the original springs back on and lower the shocks and get the ride back? Looking forward to hearing from you.
Rick
