Ford Fairlane Ford Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.

Default Tire Sizes for a 1967 Fairlane 500 XL

Hello Guys,

I just purchased a 1967 Fairlane 500 Xl and the tire size currently is 14X?. However i want a slightly bigger wheel and was wondering how much larger i can go?

I was thinking -

Cragar 61815 - Cragar S/S Super Sport Wheels - summitracing.com

does anyone know if this set of wheels will work on a fairlane?

Thanks for your help!t

I run 18 inch wheels with low profile tyres on my 67 Ranchero and have no clearance problems.. The suspension has been lowered 3 inches and the only mod that has been done is to slightly roll the front fender lip.

Fitting bigger wheels is not the problem. As you go up in size the height ratio of the tyre decreases. Measure the outside diameter of the original tyre and compare it to replacement tyre sizes.

I put something similar on my 67 Ranchero. I have Torq-Thrust D 15x7 with 4 1/2" back space. The tires are BF Goodrich Radial TA P235/60 R-15. The fronts catch the wheel molding on tight turns. When it's time for new rubber i will use 215's in the fronts for more clearance and a slight rake to the stance.
