Ford Fairlane Ford Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.

Default Introduction and build up for 68 Fairlane 500

Hey guys, just signed up on the forum. I own a 1968 Fairlane 500 2dr formal roof.
Ive owned the car for about 5 years but it only ran when I first got it. We pulled the motor and found a cracked block. Since then Ive purchased and assembled a a custom 400hp 302 with aluminum heads, high rise polished manifold, Holley 750cfm dual pump carb, March serpentine belt system, the works.
Also a brand new Performance Automatic brand C4 tranny, and a 9" rear end that I just got done rebuilding with 3.55 gears and limited slip differential.
Some extras are an aluminum oversized radiator, electric fan, ladder bars, 18" Shelby rims and used drag slicks, Cobra gauges, and some things I may have missed. And NONE of this has been installed yet.

The only problem is that its still a project. The motor is on display and all other parts are inside the stripped car witn no interior.
Im looking to update as much as possible on the car but with a very tight budget. So any help on where to get some good aftermarket parts for this car at a decent price would be a great help. I desperately need shocks and suspension to get this car drive well and I would love a set of coilovers for front and rear. Also the brakes are in bad shape and need to be replaced, it has drums front and rear and I would love to convert the front to large disks.

So now you have the 101 on my project, any help on is appreciated. It seems very difficult to network and find good deals and "the latest parts" for this car.
Thanks in advance guys!

Heres some pics to give you a better feel as to where Im headed with the project.

Thanks. Im just trying to source a lot of parts now. It seems that chevy guys can find all the modern parts for their early year car, but Im having touble finding all the modern stuff for my Ford. Summit seems great so far, but Id like to source more direct fit upgrades specifically for my Fairlane.

You might have to just do some custom fabricating. You're probably gonna have a hard time finding direct fit upgrades for your fairlane.

Thats what I was thinking in the first place, but Im finding more and more premium quality upgrades for my Fairlane that are direct bolt on, most likely because most of these parts also fit Mustangs, Falcons, and Cougars. I dont know what I would do if Ford didnt make the Mustang; where would I get my performance parts!? lol.

Its also about time to bump this thread. Wheres the old skool ford guys?!!??

I had 68 Fairlane Ranchero, but I sold it to someone in Germany, it was a really dark metallic red.
