Ford FairlaneFord Fairlane was produced from 1955 through 1969. The original body design was the full sized Ford body which started out as a family vehicle and slowly evolved into many different available models and body styles. The exterior paint and trim options, seemed endless with elaborate cloth woven seat covers and a rainbow of paint combinations.
I have a '64 sports Cp (hardtop) that measures 115.5" on the right side and 116.6" on the left side. I assume the correct wheelbase measurement in 116" and that the front crossmember was reinstalled incorrectly when rebuilt or that the right side has collision damage that I missed when I bought it ? Will someone help me with the correct wheelbase measurement. The Fairlane was rebuilt by a shop in AZ and I really got took...I am now trying to get the car strightened out myself. Thanks
I am fairly sure it is the front end that is out of wack as the rear wheels fit centered in the wheel wells also the right side front tire rubs the fender and the left doesn't. Thanks for the reply. It is funny that the car tracks fairly stright on the road.
I am putting it up on a lift tomorrow and getting some check cross measurements.
All I could find was a 116" wheelbase for a '66 on another 'Woody's Fairlane' web site. I have a set of shop manuals but they don't list wheelbase.
