I'm new to the Forum, I put a question on the general forum but did not get any replys, so this may the place to ask. I found a 66 fairlane that has been in a garage 12 -15 years it is a 1 owner 390V8 auto hang on air buckets and console. I don't remember if it said it is a XL or GT but it has full length body side moldings, a black stripe just above rocker molding, and body colored wheels or wheel covers, kind-a cone shaped.
Looks like original paint (Bronze) black vinyl seats, no vinyl roof. The old car is straight and shows 50K & looks like it coulld be. There is a air scope about a inch by 6 inches long on both rear quarters that are connected to a box in the trunk, looks factory but the boxes are not hooked up to any thing but they look like they could of been at one time.
Now the bad news, the top is off the carb., all the parts may be there, there is a old coil sitting on the floor, so I have no idea what the problem was, the old guy that owns the car said it ran good, but why is it apart for years ?
The next question is what is this pig in a poke worth, the high and the low, and is this a good car to own. I'm a Riviera guy and know nothing about these cars. But I 'm a old car guy.
I would appreciate all the help I can get.
