Cool Upper Ball Joints - 63 Futura

I have a 63 Futura. I rebuilt the front suspension with a Polygraphite kit from PST for the original 6-cyl manual steering before I started modifying.

I am now using 78 Granada spindles along with most of the rest of the 78's drivetrain. My upper ball joint boots didn't last 2 cruising seasons. Is there a better ball joint than the 63 4-bolt unit for use with the Granada spindles? I know the 78 Granada's only had 3 holes. Has anyone else used ball joints from a larger 60's Ford? What did the 64-65 Mustangs use?

Did I ask too many questions?
Always learning,
Rog

If you have a three bolt, you have an early 63. the later came with the same four bolt as the Mustangs. Actually the upper arm is the same piece. As a matter of fact The whole V-8 suspension is the same except for the drag link. Youll use a 65 Falcon unit here.

Default Thanks

I did buy the standard 63 four-bolt units from Macs when I was making another order. I still haven't put them on because it's been too darn cold, but I sat around the message board for weeks and didn't see any replies.

Thanks,
Rog

Did I mis read this, BOOTS, not "Ball joints"?

If the boots were with the rebuild kit they shipped you low quality parts/you over greased the ball joint.

Lotsa silicone boots made for Chebbie/GM products but I seldom see a listing for Fords. Wouldn't hurt to look in the deep recesses of speed shop catalogs.
