Unknown filter on Falcon/Mustang 144ci-200ci Motor Hello, I have just rebuilt a nice 170 motor and I am completeing the finishing touches. I am a # matching kind of person and like my projects to look as if they rolled off the original sales lot. When your facing the 144/170/200 motor, to the right side, just above the oil filter, there is an L shaped tube that is about 3" long and presses directly into the motor case. I believe there was a hose that extended this piece directly to the air filter housing. I believe that it is an early style PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, before it was added to the after market breather caps. It seems all the motors that I have come in contact with has filled the spot with a freeze plug.
I would like to replace this part, but dont know the exact name for it. Can it even still be purchased? Or would I have to hunt for a NOS? If you can help me, please respond or if you have one to sell, I would be willing to buy it. Thank you |
