Ford FalconFord Falcon - With standard features such as the exhilarating 6-cylinder Barra 182 engine, Control Blade IRS (sedan only), Sequential Sports Shift (on the optional automatic transmission) and an Intelligent Safety System which boasts a multitude of advanced safety features, the Falcon XT is not only a driver's car. It's also a car that the whole family can enjoy.
I have a 67 falcon in need of a few updates. The car was originally a 200c.i. 6 cyl., which means drums all the way around, manual brakes, manual steering and a small weak rear end.
It currently has a mildly built 260c.i., but I have a race 302 to be installed in the next couple weeks. The car is stock except for the 260. First thing on the list is the front disc swap since the drums are haveing trouble with the 260. I am going to go to a power disc system. Next item will be the steering. I am thinking of using a rack and pinion system, but am not sure what to steal it from. Also, while I am doing this I thought I would convert to power steering. Anyone done this before???? Last thing will be to do the rear end. I can get my hands on a cheap, or possibly free 8.8" rear end, or if not was thinking a 9" rear end.
Any input or help from experience would help. Thanks!
