Default Biggest engine in 67 falcon

I just bought a 67 falcon, and I was wondering if anybody knew what was the biggest most powerful engine that would fit in it without modifying it.

The last US Falcons used the same undercarriage/(shorteer) chassis pan as the Fairlane and Comet. Everything interchanges.

The largest factory installed engine in the Fairlane was the 428. It's a bolt in if you use factory parts.

I have seen a 68 in this area with a 454 Chebbie which fit with very little modification.

No need to send Crites $$$ (he is a local and we have had issues, as has Crites and FoMoCo, etc.), all the needed FACTORY parts are on Fairlanes/Comets of that era which had 390 engines.

Actually the same applies to any company offering "conversion" kits to mount the big block in a late US Falcon. You never know when the kit people changed the design for their parts in order to fit something not offered by the factory (add-on equipment, etc.) or to cut their production costs.

You may have to contact a few salvage yards to get the factory parts but the pay back is that they fit and you know they were made for the application.
