Default Squeaking / Squealing Starter? Help please...
Hello,

After a transmission rebuild my starter began squeaking, broke, replaced and continues to make the same noise.

Any ideas?

What do you mean "replaced"? With new, rebuilt, or boneyard?

Default "figured it all out"
...replaced with a re manufactured starter.

the answer to my question is (according to my mechanic):

- starter broke into a few small pieces of metal
- flew into freshly rebuilt transmission
- squeaking / squealing noise is coming from the transmission

Double Ouch !! I wonder if you could prove faulty rebuild (hopefully it wasn't a faulty install) and get some reimbursement for damage to tranny?

Did they pull the trans yet? I've seen pictures of where the flexplate broke, and there were grinding noises as one attempted to crank the engine. It'll be interesting to see the final solution.
