Default Just thought I'd share

A couple pics of a 65 that I found at a ghost town about a half hour from where I live. I'm working on finding a way to make it mine.

I was thinking a 289 with a T5 would motivate this little car very nicely. Still working on finding an owner.

I too agree with the 289 as I have one in my '65 falcon....put some good aluminum heads on there and you are good to go with that t-5 tranny

I was thinking 302, but I wasn't sure if that was a factory option in 65 Falcons so I wanted to keep it vintage looking and i figured that I could put a four speed shift knob on the T-5 and be all stealthy. Of course I'm getting ahead of myself, I haven't finished my Zephyr yet and I don't even own the Falcon yet!

Most people don't know the visual differences between the 221, 260, 289, 302 Windsors so it remains "vintage" looking (Hate that term when people use it to describe something that was new during my lifetime!).

However, most 302's were built after the federal smog laws went into effect vs the 289's which were built before. Smog laws brought about low compression, altered timing, air pumps, lazy cam shafts, etc., etc. Takes a bit of time to find the right stuff, but then again 289 parts aren't as common as they once were.
