Ford Festiva The Ford Festiva was introduced for 1988. Three trim levels were offered: L, L Plus, and LX. The Festiva's 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine switched from carburetion to fuel injection in 1989-90. For '90, a 5-speed manual transmission was standard and a 3-speed automatic optional. Festivas got a fresh grille and taillamps for 1990, and motorized front shoulder belts replaced manual belts.

Default Ford Festiva Rims

For my ’92 Festiva I needed new front Tires.
Our local Les Schwab had only one unknown brand “Sonar” available in 12 Inch. Total cost for two, including installation & tax was $110.
As I am not happy with the fact that I have to take some unknown brand of Tire and cannot really shop around for a better price, I am thinking of installing in the future 13 Inch Rims for which it is no problem to get whatever Tire I want.

Does anybody know if 13” Rims from an Aspire, Geo Metro or whatever other Car will fit???
Your help is appreciated.

I believe the Aspire is on the same chasiss and I'd bet that the rims would fit.

Default Rim swap outs

After experiencing the same frustrations as most of you I asked a trusted mechanic-(several times he could have ripped myself off and several of my close friends via brake, AC, Rim info.) but has not= trusted.
Mechanic stated: measure your current 12" Festiva rims top right hole to bottom right hole-(rim bolt holes). And then top right hole diagonally across to the bottom left hole. Remember these measurements in inches or millimeters and measure any 13" rims that match these. These rims will work on our 12" hubs.
I'll be doing this soon as the only tires I can now find are : Yokohamas #:Y372; 165/70SR/12 at $51.00 each. Found these at tirerack.com.
I believe there might be another forum on this at : festiva.com. Under repairs.

Default rims

The Aspire bolt pattern is different. Festivas are 4x100mm Not much is available that is hub-centric with the bolt-apattern/ hub size combo. If you go to a 13" you can run wheels designed for a late 80's to mid 90's Hyundai Excel, but they will rely on bolts to center them as the hole for the hub is larger.

As for tires, don't go more than a 165 width for safety. 185 will rub the rear struts. A 175 will clear the strut but may rub in extreme situations, especially if it has been lowered.

I currently run 13" 5 spoke alloys I bought from Festiva Motorsport 8 years ago with 165/65 13" tires and lowering springs with no problem. In the past I ran some lace- style alloys from an 88 Excel. Biggest problem is convincing the big chain tire stores they will fit.

Make another post know if you need anything else. I've been wrenching on my Festiva for 14 years. I've got Mazda, Mercury, Lincoln, Ford, and have even had Hyundai parts on her.

I just switched a couple of my festivas to 13 inch rims. I went to the junk yard and got two sets off of a couple of 82 toyota corollas. Take your wheel off and trace your center bore and bolt pattern on a piece of cardboard and take the cardboard with you to the junkyard. There are several car with the same bolt pattern. I had my rims sandblasted and painted, they look like new. I can get 13s for half of what 12s cost now. My investment paid off with my first set of tires.

is it true that Festiva is definately a thing of beauty, in its own rights. they say it is a good bit of fun for $1, and it comes complete with a fully functioning e-brake, a great suppliment to fun times in this beautiful piece of engineering.
