Hooray! Got rid of my Focus I know alot of you love your Focus but mine was a piece of crap from the day I purchased it. I purchased it new (2001) and shortly there after I was driving when out of nowhere the drivers side rear window just dropped into the door. I get it fixed (the regulator) and a month later the exact same thing happened on the passenger side and I was not doing anything with the buttons at the time, I was simply driving down the highway when it happened. The first time the dealer fixed it no questions asked. the second time they gave me a hard time saying it was not covered when the first time it was. After fighting with them for over a month suddenly they tell me its a covered item. Then I get the car back and about a month later the check engine light comes on, turned out to be a leak somewhere between the pipe where you fill it and where it connects to the gas tank. I reach up to turn on the interior light and the switch falls off in my hand, I reach over to open the glove box and the handle on the glove box breaks off in my hand. Unbelievible. I drive down the street and stop at the stop sign at my daughters school bus stop and all heads turn as my brakes were screeching with about 1,200 miles on the car at the time. Turned out to be faulty rear wheel cylinders and the bearing had to be replaced. With 50,000 highway miles the brake rotors were completely shot and had to be replaced. When I complained the dealer said if I had an Explorer or Expedition they are equipped with heavy duty rotors. I told them that if you want to be cheap with the interior or radio thats fine but ALL cars should have heavy duty rotors. I complained to Ford Motor Corp. and they said they had no knowledge of any complaints with the brakes on the Focus even though there is a website [url=http://www.fordfocusbrakeproblems.com] when I told them about the website, they said thanks for calling. I said thanks for nothing. Last but not least, the wonderful CD player that constantly skips and if you remove the CD (3) or (4) times and turn the radio off and then back on maybe just maybe you get lucky and it works properly. There I got that off my chest. Sorry, I had to vent. I've had alot of Fords and this was the worse car I have ever had and when I see the commercials saying best car three years in a row, it makes me sick.
