Ford Focus Overall, it feels cushier than other compacts, both in terms of its comfortable seats and its soft suspension. It's fun to drive, however, with agile handling. It's comfortable on long trips and stable at high speeds. The Focus is among the best of the compacts in terms of ride quality and has been lauded by the enthusiast publications for its handling.

Default No start

There should be a Schrader Valve on the RHS of the fuel rail. Get a Haynes Manual 36034. If you do not have a valve, you are going to have to plumb one in where the pressure line meets the rail. You should have 65psi. If its higher the Pressure relief valve is shot, less and its the pump.

Test the ignition using a spak plug tester, if its all OK, then you will have to check tthe camsaft timing andfor that you WILL need the manual.

Let me know

Thanks. I bought a manual for it last night after I got out of class. I am now reading it to figure out the procedure on the camshaft timing, just in case. This Focus does not have a valve on the fuel rail so I guess I will have to tap into the line and do it that way.
I will let you know how it goes after I do it this weekend and I will post back with results.

Thanks Again for all your help!!!!

everything was checked and came back fine but it still was not running. Well my father in-law came over and he rented a obd II diagnostic tool from autozone. It was not throwing any codes and fuel system was fine and what not. So we took the valve cover off and cranked it and none of the valves were moving and he told me that the timing belt is shot. Yay for me so now I get to have the fun job of replacing a timing belt in a little tight space of an engine bay.....lol

Default could this have happened? jumped time.

If you shut off the car, get gas and start it again or rather turn the key, won't start. Will it have jump time? As tring to start it, It Isn't sounding right and making the starter work pretty hard. no sucking air in the Carb. I was thinking it was the starter, changed it and the batterie and ground cable.
It's stuck at the gas station right now. But 1. has any damage from trying to starting like this? (If it's the timing belt). And from reading this forum change the water pump, belt, tension, puller and pulley. What else should be changed when done. And anther thing? Can this be done from on top of the car or should I use the car lift?

Default It was timing belt

It was the timing belt and all works fine and don't need car lift to change out.
