Ford Focus Overall, it feels cushier than other compacts, both in terms of its comfortable seats and its soft suspension. It's fun to drive, however, with agile handling. It's comfortable on long trips and stable at high speeds. The Focus is among the best of the compacts in terms of ride quality and has been lauded by the enthusiast publications for its handling.

Default 6 Disk CD Changer

We have a 6 disk cd changer in our '02 focus this morining it decided it would "eat" the cds that where in there and not eject them. Its doing this to the upper the slots of the changer 456 we are up to insert and eject fine. When we push eject the you can clearly hear the motors whining and then a small click sound. Any help or advise would be greatly appricated.

I had same problem and eventually I ended up having to pull radio out to physically remove cds. Ford wants too much to replace unit so I ended up buying external satellite receiver and I do not listen to cd's any longer. Tip, I have found the 6 cd radio many times on ebay but I am a tight wad and have not won yet. I never bid more that $125 though. I am getting ready to trade in as I have 205,000 miles and my focus is getting a little tired.

This is what I did to my In-Dash 6 disc CD Player.

Rather that toss the radio like most are saying to do you can try this first.

Pull the radio out and remove the screw on each side and the 2 on the back. Pop off the cover and you can see the CD's. The part of the CD changer may have not fully engaged the CD it wanted to play and it is stuck not knowing what to do. Press on the CD that so that the part that spins the CD is locked into the center of the CD. Leave the top open and plug in the CD player. It should start going through all of the cd's then if the CD error is gone it will play again.

I've seen this suggested several times, but nobody says HOW to pull the radio out. When I look at mine, I don't see any obvious way. Can someone please post instructions or do you have to be a tech?

Thx.

I have a similar problem. My player just doesnt play anything anymore. I was not even able to eject or load any CDs. I brought it to a radio shop, and the guy was not able to fix it. He removed all the CD's and suggested me to buy a new one. I found on internet repair service Automotive Radio and Changers Repair Services :: 6 CD Changer Error Fixing and they fixed it for 199+shipping... Don't even try to repair it youself.

I have a 2003 Ford Focus and have MP3 capabilities so at least as far back as 2003. Of course, I've discovered that after playing MP3 discs for about 30 minutes - the player starts skipping and having troubles reading the disc. It doesn't have this problem for regular CD's - only MP3's. Odd..

Default My issue is different as well

My 6cd/mp3 loads/ejects without issue... but has gone on strike and WON'T play the CD's. Right now I have the battery disconnected to see if this will help, hadn't seen the CD/Eject=reset before and hope I don't have to try that as well!
