Smile 2004 Freestar Starting Problem

Hi there -
New to this forum and glad I found it. I have a 2004 Ford Freestar with the 4.2 and been having starting problems. I had the battery checked and they said it was fine. Every once in awhile it just clicks when attempting to start. I have put a charger on the battery for awhile then it will turn over. I am guessing either a bad battery or bad alternator? Any opinions or like experiences would be helpful!

Thanks!

Have the alternator tested at Autozone, then you'll know. It could possibly be the starter solenoid showing intermittent signs of a soon-to-be-failure.

FYI, it was the battery. Don't trust those Autozone places testing your battery.... I had the old one tested and it showed fine. Popped a new NAPA battery in and it runs like a champ!
