Default 04 Freestar SEL Gas Milage Improvement?

Has anyone used K&N air-filters or other gas milage improvements on the 4.2? I am getting sometimes around 13-14 in city and want to see if I can improve any?

I thought mine got bad mileage (17mpg), combined city and highway. Are you due for a tune-up? Air filter check? Or just checking the air in the tires will improve gas mileage. I don't think an aftermarket air cleaner will make that much of a difference.

Default K&n

I have the K&N air filter in my freestar 05 with the 4.2ltr engine. It runs great not sure there is a major difference in gas mileage but you should see 1 or 2 improvement. In the long run you can clean the K&N and you dont have to buy a new filter all the time.
