Angry Freestar brakes

Hello all, I have a freestar ses with 48k and it is making that miserable high pitch noise that I know a lot of you have dealt with, I am in the process of getting that fixed. My other brake issue is the fact that after replacing the pads and rotors I have had the brakes bled and can push the pedal all the way to the floor and the front end shakes like it is coming off the van. If anyone has any I deas I would be very grateful.

If it shakes when you apply the brakes then the rotors are not true, which may cause a low pedel, although usally not as low as you describe.

You changed front or rear pads and rotors? You really should not have had to have the brakes bled since you dont actually open the system so to speak.I open the beeder and compress the fluid out the caliper sometimes if the fluid is pushed back into the system it can mess up the seals in the master cylinder. Also did it shake before the repair?

You most likely have air in the brake line cause the pedal to be low. Try gravity bleeding the brakes then manual bleed the brakes. That should get all the air out of the system. The shaking is a warped rotor have them turned or replaced if they are under manfucter specs.

I have an 06 with the same brake issues. I have had them done 2x under warranty (new rotors and pads - 10k and 25k) and I need to bring it in again (36k now and want to get done while still covered).

The bottom line is the OEM rotors are bad. After this last 'fix' from the dealer. I will change over to these rotors myself. I actually enjoy doing brakes. I checked out Frozenrotors.com Frozen Rotors - High Performance Brake Pads, Brake Rotors

The little extra money up front on better rotors and pads is well worth it.
