Ford Freestar The Ford Freestar is a solid, highly capable minivan that performs well and offers all the latest safety features. Much of the Freestar's structure and design came from the Windstar it replaced. Windstar offered class-leading safety and solid performance for its time. Freestar is the highest quality minivan it has ever built.

Default Cigarette Lighters Not Working

I own a 2005 Ford Freestar Limited Edition. Recently, our cigarette lighters (or car adapters), where one would plug in their cell phone car adapter or iPod car adapter, stopped working. So when I called the local Ford dealership, they said that they have never heard of anything like this happening. In order for them to diagnose the problem, they would charge me $50, even on top of an oil change, which I think is ridiculous. Does anyone know what's wrong? Why did this happened? Does anyone know how to go about fixing this?

I believe that it could be a fuse issue, but I know nothing about cars or anything automotive. So any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Plus, I don't feel good about going to my local Ford dealership if they know just as much as me about the situation.

check you owners manual and it should tell you what fuse.Ford will no longer pay for fuses under warranty unless a repair is made. You probably overloaded the fuse.
