Ford FreestarThe Ford Freestar is a solid, highly capable minivan that performs well and offers all the latest safety features. Much of the Freestar's structure and design came from the Windstar it replaced. Windstar offered class-leading safety and solid performance for its time. Freestar is the highest quality minivan it has ever built.
How do I get the linkage of the wiper arms off to get to the back three plugs and the coil pack? Also is there any other surprises that I will run into? One desperate person asking.
idk about the freestar, but for the windstar, the linkage, and motor come out as a unit still attached to the black plastic cowel.

You will remove the whole assembly, wiper arms - linkage - motor all stay attached.
Just unplug the hose for the washer fluid and the wires from the wiper motor. Pretty easy to remove, but those back three plugs are still hard to reach even with it off. Be careful wound the fresh air ducting as its made of the thinnest cheapest plastic ever and will break with even the slightest weight from you leaning against it.
While you got the cowl off, make sure to seal up your computer plug. Google TSB 06-14-10 for instructions on how to do it, and it tells you how the cowl comes off also.
