 Freestar studdering, slipping, HELP!
I am working on a freestar, 04 i think, ses with a 3.9.
The problem I am trying to fix is when the van is at highway speeds 60-70mph, I can feel the a/c clutch kick on, the van surges like 75 rpm, then the tranny feels like it went into neutral for a second then back into gear.
Before you say this is normal, it has never done it in the past three years of ownership. It just started the past winter. We tried to bring it to the ford dealership and they could not find the problem, but "Something is definately wrong" they told us. They tried to re-flash the pcm, but that didn't work.
It only happens with the a/c on- in any position ex. vent- and when traveling at speed. Hasn't happened at idle that I know of.
With no warranty, I don't want to leave it up to the dealership to replace everything without knowing what is wrong.
Any ideas?
Plugs and wires have not been changed. van has roughly 50-60k miles. |
