Ford Freestar The Ford Freestar is a solid, highly capable minivan that performs well and offers all the latest safety features. Much of the Freestar's structure and design came from the Windstar it replaced. Windstar offered class-leading safety and solid performance for its time. Freestar is the highest quality minivan it has ever built.

Someone else just asked this last week. Do a search for cabin filter in the freestar forum and you should find it.

Question Cabin Filter

What is the procedure in replacing a cabin filter in a 2005 Ford Freestar?
I am not a mechanic but I do a lot of my own repairs. I don't want to get in over my head. Just where is it, under the hood or inside in the passenger side?

Pop the hood, and its in the plastic housing of the wiper / fresh air assembly on the passenger side. Little door that pops open.

Funny story.... Last time I took the van into an oil change place they checked out my air filter and told me I should replace it; I refused and mentioned that I intended to get a K&N filter. I think it sort of ticked them off as when they checked my cabin filter they found it to be quite dirty and informed me that in addition to it need to be replaced that it wasn't available through K&N. It was good for a laugh but I agreed that they could change it.
