Default I guess I get to join the club
Reading all the Freestar Transmission failures has been making me nervous. Well today I get to join the club I guess - I backed out of my driveway and went to drive, slow engagement as usual. Proceeded up the street then wham it just starts revving and whining really loud. No gears forward or backward! I have taken great care of this thing and only 84k currently on it.

I guess my torque converter busted right? Has anyone just tried replacing it by itself, or does it really destroy the transmission?

Guess its gonna be parked for a while.
