Ford FreestarThe Ford Freestar is a solid, highly capable minivan that performs well and offers all the latest safety features. Much of the Freestar's structure and design came from the Windstar it replaced. Windstar offered class-leading safety and solid performance for its time. Freestar is the highest quality minivan it has ever built.
I use Chilton and Haynes for my '89 Ranger. They each have some information the other doesn't and often have conflicting information. I'd say the Ford Service Manuals are your best bet.
Thanks for the replies. I came across a seller on e-bay which has ford factory service manuals but on DVD. Apparently has volume 1,2 and electrical for the 2006 freestar plus all 2006 ford, lincoln, mercury vehicles, and they state its ford service manuals on dvd and not chilton, haynes, etc. What's your thoughts on this dvd guide?
Thanks

There's no spyware, virus or Cinderella timer in the paper manuals. I fell into the trap, and the manual on CD I bought for our '97 E-350 died after a year or so, and I ended up buying a paper manual.
I would not trust any electronic copy not produced by Ford, and I don't even know if they produced them. Besides that, copyright violation is serious, making you accessory to a crime.
I got the '06 Freestar/Monterey set off ebay for something like $25 plus $15 shipping. The EFI/smog control manual is separate, and covers all Fords for the year, which I bought for our '04 Monty. You're not too likely to need that one.
Thanks for the input, greatly appreciated, i put an order through for a complete set for the freestar which includes volume 1, 2 and electrical and the same for my 1998 ford windstar, also all 3 books. Cost $47. Seller doesn't have a set for my 2000 windstar, trying for a combined shipping thing. Thanks
