If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

You are as useful as a Screen Door on a Submarine!

Well my situation has just gotten worse. When I installed the Master Brake Cylinder, somehow it was not aligned with the shaft in the brake booster, and a piece of the shaft shot out and broke thru the plastic peice of the seal in the MBC.

So now, I am having to wait another day, and purchase another MBC at my expense. Man what a vacation....

Hopefully my damage did not cause any real permanent damage to the shaft of the brake booster.

Good news!!! I finally got everything working.

So to follow up:

The Deactivations switch went bad.
I ordered a new part, and installed it.
Make sure to check to see if the threads on the Master Brake Cylinder is not cross threaded.
If the switch will not thread properly, take off the Master Brake Cylinder and visually inspect the threads up close to make sure nothing is damaged. I damaged, the order a whole new Master Brake Cylinder. Average cost $115-$160 depending on your location and parts retailer.
Re-install and be on your way.

This forum is very useful. I have the same issue with my cruise control. I mainly drive in town so I don't really use cruise control often. I noticed this issue last week and at that time I had 36800 miles, i.e. 800 miles past factory warranty. Both dealer and Ford refused to help even though I am still within 3-year limit. Should I fix it myself as advised here or should I try to pursue this matter in court?

3 year 36000 what ever comes first is the warranty, you could do 36800 the first year and that would have ended your warranty. I have a 2001 Corvette with 15500 miles do you think GM would honor any repairs? Contact Ford direct and maybe they will give you a discount.

Max,

When I took out my pressure switch from the Master Brake Cylinder, the threaded ends of the pressure switch were rounded off.

So that means eigther the previous owner or fleet company that owned this van had their shop or a Ford Dealer replace the sensor.

Remember, sometimes they have Jr mechanic's or low paid techs work on the simple stuff, and when they are pressed for time, they just jamm things in and call it a day, figuring that no one will know for a long time anyway until the part either fails of the vehicle gets trashed.

I have had this poor experience.

The overall replacement is not too bad, I just hope you do not have a crossthreaded Master Brake Cylinder port.

I am sorry I took so long to respond, I have been busy with own schooling, work issues, and taking care of my family.

Feel free to pm me should you have any questions regarding my post.
