Question parking gear

has anybody had a problem with the parking gear. I just bought a 06 about 3 weeks ago and my three year old got in it no keys in it and some how pulled the shifter out of park and it rolled down the hill hit a car and then went further down the hill and hit a house. I'm still waiting on my insurance and the ford dealer to inspect it. the dealer told me that you had to have the key turned to the on position and the brake peddle pushed to be able to move the shifter. If any one has had any problems with theirs rolling please let me know.

My two year old was able to pull mine out of gear as well. I have not been able to duplicate this condition.
I have noticed that my shifter does not seem to align with the indicator or the detents that are felt ( when shifting to reverse I have to shift slightly past the reverse position to get the transmission to engage). I suspect the shift linkage is out of adjustment on mine. If this is the case, it could keep the shifter from fully resting in the home position and prevent the lock pin from engaging.
I'm going to investigate this further, I'll let you know what I find.
