Ford Freestyle The Ford Freestyle's roofline stands at 68 inches off the ground, and Ford has declined to put a label on it, either SUV or sedan. Keeping the Freestyle tall and offering all-wheel-drive seems to be attactive to non-SUV and non-Sedan car owners, and the Freestyle comes with low ground clearance, unibody construction, independent suspension and a overhead cam engine.

Default How do I avoid a leaky Freestyle??

Hello everyone.

I would like to buy a used freestyle is there any way to avoid buying a leaker?

Are ALL Freestyles prone to leakage or is the problem limited to a specific trim level or package?

Is the leak only on sunroof and or rear a/c equiped models??

Are all Freestyles (for USA and Canada) built at the same plant or if not, is the problem related to one assembly plant only??

If I can find out how to aviod a leaker I would still like to buy the car.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an '07 Limited AWD, sunroof, rear a/c unit. The car is now been in my hands for the past 12 months, 18000+ miles. Numerous automatic car washes, a lot of rain the past year, and no leaks to date. Will they appear in the future, who knows. To my knowledge all are made at the same plant. I haven't seen anyone report water leaks on anything other then '05 models, unless I missed it. Hope this helps some....
