Ford Freestyle The Ford Freestyle's roofline stands at 68 inches off the ground, and Ford has declined to put a label on it, either SUV or sedan. Keeping the Freestyle tall and offering all-wheel-drive seems to be attactive to non-SUV and non-Sedan car owners, and the Freestyle comes with low ground clearance, unibody construction, independent suspension and a overhead cam engine.

A cold soldier joint on the "crystal" located next to the four sided processor chip on the printed circuit board. I scraped the leads to the crystal clean with a razor blade them re-soldiered them.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Total repair time less than one hour.........
{The crystal is a "metal" component that dissipates heat quicker than the rest of the components on the circuit board, so when the board goes into the soldier bath, the crystal cools the soldier too quickly and results in a poor soldier connection. Temperature changes and bumpy roads make the guages sweep.....}

I am having the same problem with my '05 Freestyle. I am not handy at welding but would love to hear how you found the cluster, got it out and fixed it. My buddy is an electrician and could probably do the cold weld for me. Thanks.
