Ford Freestyle The Ford Freestyle's roofline stands at 68 inches off the ground, and Ford has declined to put a label on it, either SUV or sedan. Keeping the Freestyle tall and offering all-wheel-drive seems to be attactive to non-SUV and non-Sedan car owners, and the Freestyle comes with low ground clearance, unibody construction, independent suspension and a overhead cam engine.

Default 2005 Freestyle too many problems to list need help!

ageHello, I am new to this forum thing and am looking for some direction. I have a 2005 Ford freestyle limited AWD with 45,000 on it. I have the extended warranty thank God. I have an ABS problem and traction control problem which from reading on this site seem to be directly related with one another. I usually don't get any indication when they are not working but when on ice here in Alaska where I live (which is everywhere) and I hit the brakes all four tires will lock up quite quickly and ABS does nothing. Same with traction control only the little indicator will flash and the dash will say trac control active, even though with only one tire on the ice that tire will continue to spin, causing my car to effectively be stuck with only one of the 4 tires on ice. Also the car leaks from the sun roof and fills the dash and front passenger floorboard with water, the dealership on my remote island does not work on leaks... The driver side heated seat doesn't work, the liftgate takes way to much effort to close, if I leave my car in the garage for over a day then the battery will be dead and when I try to start it the light will blink on and off and the gauges go haywire, the remote start that was already on the car will crank the car 3 times before it actually starts...

Seems to me like this $23,000 car I purchased is definitly a lemon. I have had the car for 1 1/2 years and have babied it. I do all of the engine maint. and have the dealership do everything else. The problem is that I live in Kodiak and the dealer is also a appliance dealer, 4 wheeler dealer and some other things. They literaly have 9 cars on their lot, 2 service techs, 1 sales person and a parts guy/service person. They simply don't see enough freestyles to know what to do I think.

I contacted ford finally since the ABS and TRAC control is imparitive to keep my pregnant wife and 19 month old safe here in Alaska's unfriendly conditions. They told me to take it back to the dealer and that's about it, I am in the military and am waiting on the guys boss to call back. If they don't do anything to help me out with this then I am going to call the news station and send a military wide message out to let service members like me know what kind of trouble I am having.

Anybody have any ideas what to do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
