Ford FreestyleThe Ford Freestyle's roofline stands at 68 inches off the ground, and Ford has declined to put a label on it, either SUV or sedan. Keeping the Freestyle tall and offering all-wheel-drive seems to be attactive to non-SUV and non-Sedan car owners, and the Freestyle comes with low ground clearance, unibody construction, independent suspension and a overhead cam engine.
We have a 2005 Ford Freestyle and have been waiting for the throttle block part. I contacted Ford's customer care division and outside of communicating with them once a week--we are not any closer to getting the part for the car. Our dealer originally told us December and now the rep from Ford is saying maybe the middle of October--today is the 18th. I wonder how many Freestyles have this problem. I asked why this was not a recall issue and really did not get a satisfactory answer. I suppose that someone will have to be seriously injured or lose their life before any action is taken. We have been dealing with this problem since August 24.
