Ford Freestyle The Ford Freestyle's roofline stands at 68 inches off the ground, and Ford has declined to put a label on it, either SUV or sedan. Keeping the Freestyle tall and offering all-wheel-drive seems to be attactive to non-SUV and non-Sedan car owners, and the Freestyle comes with low ground clearance, unibody construction, independent suspension and a overhead cam engine.

Default Ford Freestyle Sunroof Leak

Just took my 2005 Ford Freestyle in for sunroof leak problems. Service tech said ford placed drain plugs in wrong area and that the plugs were clogged. They would have to pull the interior ceiling down and rework and redrill the drain plugs. I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the car in 2005. The warranty is still in effect, but Ford will not cover my problem because the warranty does not cover water leaks or the fact that they have created the problem due to faulty engineering. This will be my last of many ford products that I have purchased. Can you say Volkswagon.

Water leak !!!! - AcuraZine Community

hmm....

It's a bummer that the Ford dealer didn't take car of you under warranty-even if it's not covered under your extended warranty. There obviously is a design flaw in the FS sunroofs over and above what is normal, but still, all sunroofs have drains, and all drains get clogged.

Any suggestions how to fix a clogged drain? The only fix I have found for my FS is park the front end facing downhill or on a flat surface. We have become accustomed to backing into the drive way....that's the only fix I know. I loved this car, but now I am starting to have problems with the PS as well and brakes.

I don't have a sunroof on mine, but I imagine it's the same procedure as other cars I've had: blow some compressed air though the drains (if you don't have a compressor, a can of compressed air from Office Depot will work fine), and/or fish some small wire though the drains.

Maybe someone who's done this on a FS could post some pictures! I have no sunroof, so I can't...
