Ford FusionThe Ford Fusion is an excellent choice among midsize sedans and should not be overlooked. The Fusion was introduced as an all-new vehicle for 2006 and it's a superb car. It handles well, looks purposeful, it's comfortable, and it delivers good value. Furthermore, the all-wheel-drive Ford Fusion extremely stable on wet pavement.
Hello,
Ever since the first week I drove new 2007 Fusion there have been problems with the Message Center. The recurrent problem: "Brake Fluid Low," but it isn't. Intermittant, random. Have had checked at dealer, and brake fluid level confirmed ok.
Left car at dealer for day, report: “checked message center operation-ok at this time-checked for TSBS and SSMS-none found. No problem found after several attempts unable to verify concern.”
I have been told that unless I take the car to the dealer while the message is showing, they can do nothing about it. I cannot predict when the message will occur, and can't easily leave my fusion at the dealer (as required by them) at the drop of a hat -- must plan around my work.
Anyone else had similar problem? If so, please answer and let's see what we can do to remedy. Thanks, Leilani
We have an 08 Escape that started missing/sputtering horribly out of the blue one day. Did it intermittently, but mostly for the 25 mile drive into town, and idling in the dealer service drive. Service writer shut it down and the problem clerared up as soon as the mechanic started driving into the garage. The computer set no code, and whatever the problem was hasn't repeated since. I kinda wonder what good is the computer?
there has to be a sender that would declare that there is brake fluid or not .some type of reed switch when the fluid is low this switch would become open telling computer to display low brake fluid .this sensor that im talking about is located at the bottom of the master cylinder where you can see wires plugged into it .....This sensor should be your problem ,,down side; this switch may be part of master cylinder and could be costly ,,on the flip side. If this is a warranty issue could be the reason they supposedly cant find this simple problem...
Hi, herrieelectric, Thanks so much for taking time to reply with help. Sure would like to know if other owners have had computer/message center problems. Leilani
I've got a 2007 Fusion with 19K miles on it; just started experience the 'brake fluid low' warning yesterday. Same thing - no sign of leakage, no problem with the brakes (near as I can tell), and the fluid was down about 1/8. I topped it off, and still experience the issue, intermittently. There is some small comfort in knowing I'm not alone!
