Ford FusionThe Ford Fusion is an excellent choice among midsize sedans and should not be overlooked. The Fusion was introduced as an all-new vehicle for 2006 and it's a superb car. It handles well, looks purposeful, it's comfortable, and it delivers good value. Furthermore, the all-wheel-drive Ford Fusion extremely stable on wet pavement.
I have been doing a lot of research on the Fusion,Camry, Accord, and Civic but I do not know which one to choose. I feel like Ford has a bad reputation and they are trying to change it with the Fusion, but I am still a skeptic. The Camry and Accord/Civic are proven reliable, but pricing is worse and financing options suck to but it bluntly. All reviews I have read on the fusion are good so far but I want to find out what people here has to say. Thanks in advance.
What is the quality of the different service departments? How close are they and do they offer loaners?I would recomend a factory extended service policy, they may seam pricy but usually it pays for itself with one covered repair.
I guess it comes down to a few things.....test drive to see which one you feel better with, experience and overall satisfaction at the dealership, and most importantly how much it will set you back and how fast you can pay back the loan if you choose to finance......personally I always recommend to people to avoid financing and just buy used and pay with cash to avoid the BS involved
with people having to finance vehicle longer than a factory warranty I would never be without a 100k factory extended warranty.I've seen far to many people with several years worth of notes still to pay faced with a several thousand dollar repair.
I have actually test driven the 6cyl fusion sel model it was very impressive. I am just worried about the engine and transmission failing after 65k miles. Also body rust and paint job hold up. Thanks everyone tough choice its the best bang for your buck out there right now.
I have a 2009 SEL AWD. Love it. It has the V-6, so it is a bit spirited. Still breaking it in, but averaging 22 mpg mixed driving so far. Ride is firm and good. Seat comfort has improved from 2008. The Sync feature is so great - once you have it, you will defiitely get spoiled.
I made the same comparisons you are considering. Assuming dealer service and ride is similar, look up the customer comments on-line for each. I found the feedback on the other models was mediocre; nothing but good comments for the Fusion.
There is not a lot of "high mileage" (i.e. above 65k) data available on Fusion because it is so new.
The 3.0L Duratec V6 has been around for several years and has proven to be very reliable. The 2009MY version of 3.0L Duratec V6 has some minor "improvements", giving more fuel economy and power.
The 2009MY V6 Fusion uses a "new" 6 speed automatic. It is a version of the GM/Ford (yes, GM did the base design work) joint venture transmission which has been used in the Taurus for a few years and the Taurus X for 1 year. So far so good, but that's all I can say.
