Ford Fusion The Ford Fusion is an excellent choice among midsize sedans and should not be overlooked. The Fusion was introduced as an all-new vehicle for 2006 and it's a superb car. It handles well, looks purposeful, it's comfortable, and it delivers good value. Furthermore, the all-wheel-drive Ford Fusion extremely stable on wet pavement.

Question Ford Fusion Sun Roof Leaks

Is anyone having problems with the sun roof leaking. I have had my car in the shop four times so far. They have replaced the seal, realigned the drain tubes and now I am being told that this is normal. The outer seal has a split in the back instead of being molded at the joint. This appears to be on all of them so I can only assume they intended to design it this way. This is where the water is entering and with heavy rain it fills the drip tray. They state this is normal, which I do not agree with at all. If you have a sun roof and haven't checked this out, do so next time there is a heavy rain. The dealer tested other cars and it happened to all of them. Maybe if enough people have this problem they will not see it as normal. Overall I do love the way the car handles and performance is very good but I feel like I will end up with a rusted out car in a year or two.

Default Leaking Sunroofs

Sunroofs are not supposed to leak. Besides the service reps telling you they are designed that way to leak is a crock. They are supposed to be designed NOT TO LEAK. I have had many cars with sunroofs through the years and only one of them leaked and it was a Nissan Maxima and that car was definitely a lemon and a 'bucket of bolts' from the git go.

Default Sunroof Leaking

Carolyn,

After bringing my car back five times it is finally fixed. Where the seal around my sunroof met it was not bonded just jaggedly put together. I kept telling them about bonding it to no avail, I brought them the FORD TS sunroof installation for the Focus and showed them how it states to bond the seam together, same sunroof as the Fusion but the Fusion instructions did not state to bond the seal together. Well of course the Techs aren't going to say they are wrong to a woman, but the fifth time I brought it back they finally did bond it together, it has not leaked since.

In the meantime though they had to replace my headliner due to stains and my floor carpet from the way they tested it and left it wet.

Good luck, hope this helps.
