Ford FusionThe Ford Fusion is an excellent choice among midsize sedans and should not be overlooked. The Fusion was introduced as an all-new vehicle for 2006 and it's a superb car. It handles well, looks purposeful, it's comfortable, and it delivers good value. Furthermore, the all-wheel-drive Ford Fusion extremely stable on wet pavement.
The issue that I am experiencing is that the climate control on its own will run the fan at full speed and increase the hot temp to the max. I have had this car since new it is a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. The problem has only happened about 6 time in 10K miles. I am becoming concerned because it happened twice today!
Another issue that I have noticed (but this may be nothing) is when I adjust the fan speed using the thumb pad on the steering wheel it displays the increase or decrease. This remains on until I shut off the automatic AC setting and then turn it on again. This may be normal but I have just noticed it.
I always keep the AC on and it is always set to automatic.
I plan to go to the dealer this Thursday 20 Sept. I have the feeling that they will not be able to duplicate the problem and I will get the stock answer that they have never seen this issue before.
Hope somebody else can provide me some advice before I see the dealer.
my mom is having similar issue with her car. she took it back to dealer when she first bought car. They said they couldnt do anything because they could NIT replicate the problem. The AC/Heat goes on and off by itself. the fan increases speed as if possessed and you cannot use the controls to shut it off. when this happens -the defrost wont clear the window and makes driving hazardous. It blows cold in winter and hot in summer.plus it is a MAJOR distraction while driving.
i am afraid to let my mother (in her 70s) drive this car anymore because you never know when it will happen and it is such a distraction.
Any suggestions as to what to do or how to get Ford to repair this would be greatly appreciated.
