Ford Galaxie The Ford Galaxie has effortless V8 performance, bulletproof mechanicals and great value make 30-year old Galaxie increasingly desirable with true-blue collectors. Size has everything to do with the on-going appeal of these cars. Although the newest are now more than 30 years old, a well-maintained Galaxie offers comfort and performance to rival cars half its age.

Default Rough idling 390

Trying to get this 390 I dropped in my Galaxie to idle a bit smoother.Has a 4bbl Ford 4100 on it.Had someone put a kit in it but he said carb seemed pretty good.Played with mixture screws many times.Intake gaskets were done,no vacumn leaks I can find.Runs smooth other than that.Usually pop into neutral when I am at a red light. My clapped out 352 2 bbl idled much nicer.Any help appreciated....

make sure the gaskets or seals around the throttle plates are okay. when a carb kit is done they can not be replaced. when idlling try spraying a little intake cleaner around it. also do you have al the vaccum lines in the right place. You may need to reset the float. it just runs rough at idle or when its in gear.
