Ford Galaxie The Ford Galaxie has effortless V8 performance, bulletproof mechanicals and great value make 30-year old Galaxie increasingly desirable with true-blue collectors. Size has everything to do with the on-going appeal of these cars. Although the newest are now more than 30 years old, a well-maintained Galaxie offers comfort and performance to rival cars half its age.

Default Another New guy, help appreciated

Ok guys here's the deal. I've always been a car guy and a muscle car mechanic since the age of 19. I've worked for local speed shops building classics and late model performers until recently when I decided to go back to College to finish off my Mechanical Engineering degree...

That being said, I presently own a 1999 Camaro SS with an LS6 powertrain (C5 corvette Z06 powertrain) and all the bolt ons. I was recently presented with the opportunity to purchase a 1963 Galaxie 500 Convertible for around $5K. I've always been a sucker for classics, and should I decide to sell my car, with everything done to it.. it should fetch around 13,500 to $14,000....enough to pick up the galaxie and fix the minor details to get it back in top shape

The odometer reads 22k miles
Original black on black with a black top
original 352CI/auto car
Original AC car
no rust or cancer whatsoever... no bondo either
Floor pans are beautiful
Suspected repaint due to typical signs

She appears to be unmolested and in great shape. Is this a good purchase?
Please chime in!

Well...everyone HERE is gonna tell you to go for it (hence the Ford Galaxie forums). Post this again for the Chevy Camero enthusiasts forums and you'll get yelled at. LOL!

Seriously...it seems like a pretty good purchase. I'd love the car!

THe Galaxie seems to be on the upswing value-wise while the camaro may still decrease for a little while longer . Besides , Galaxies are a lot easier to work on , and you get some coin in your pocket to spare.

I drive a 64 Galaxie and a 78 Vette, when I take them anywhere, the Galaxie is the one that draws the people. I go to car shows, you see alot of Vettes, Cameros and classic Chevs, so seeing a Galaxie will bring most people around.

Yep, Vettes are EVERYWHERE! I have an 88 and the only thing that makes it unusual is that it's a stick shift. My Galaxie fastback is an attention getter. Very few are left on the road.

Great deal hands down! If you don't do that deal, let the folks on this forum know where it is, 'cause there'll be a line to get to it first.
