Default Need help decoding

I have a 1965 galaxie 500xl and have been trying to decode the warranty code with no luck. I've searched this forum and the web but can't seem to find any info. I was hoping someone here could help. The code is as follows;
63C 5 77 21G 72 1 4
I was able to decode the vin# which is 5J68X189xxx. According to what I found the car had a 352, but I was under the impression it had a 390, because I pulled it and put in a 428cj which bolted right in place. Am I wrong or would that not have been possible if it were indeed a 352? Any info would be great thanks.

x in the vin in 65 equals 352 4v. 63c is body #;5 color; 77 = trim; 21g date code; 72 sales district; 1 axle [3.00:1] 4 trans [cruise-o-matic]. 352 and 428 are made from same block so everything should "just bolt up". hope this helps

Yes that does help, so does that mean it's an open rear end and is it a 9"?

my info only gives the ratio ; if it were a locker it would have a letter code for 65. unless its been changed i would say its 99% sure a 9 inch . it should have a small aluminium tag on one of the bolts that can be decoded to tell for sure. good luck
