Ford Galaxie The Ford Galaxie has effortless V8 performance, bulletproof mechanicals and great value make 30-year old Galaxie increasingly desirable with true-blue collectors. Size has everything to do with the on-going appeal of these cars. Although the newest are now more than 30 years old, a well-maintained Galaxie offers comfort and performance to rival cars half its age.

Not so fast. There were various different transmissions in 64. The C6 and C4 made their debut in 64. If the unit has been rebuilt with newer clutch material, it may very well be better served with Dexron.

I would suggest that you post this on bobistheoilguy.com.

I agree about the rebuild, after mine was rebuilt, it was recommended that I use the newer Mercron. I do think that the C6 was not interdused untill 66. The Cruise-O-Matic was what used untill 65.

Cruis O Matic is just a buzz word. The C4 was introduced in 64 for sure and I'm pretty sure that the C6 was also.
