Ford GalaxieThe Ford Galaxie has effortless V8 performance, bulletproof mechanicals and great value make 30-year old Galaxie increasingly desirable with true-blue collectors. Size has everything to do with the on-going appeal of these cars. Although the newest are now more than 30 years old, a well-maintained Galaxie offers comfort and performance to rival cars half its age.
For about three years now I have had a 64 427 that came out of galaxie just hanging out on the engine stand. Block casting #c4az6016a , head casting # c3ae-6090-d. I even have the cast headers.
When I got it, it was in a 53 ford f100 that was chopped, but had no glass and quite frankly needed more than I wanted to do. So I pulled the engine and trans. and sold the truck. Now I need something to put it in.
On another note the engineering tag is missing from under distributor bolt so I don't have the intimate details of the engine.
SO your telling us this because its in the way and you want to give it away to make room in garage? I understand , ill be there in an hour to get that old stuffy engine off your hands . lol
Not exactly. I was just feeling out the forum to see how responsive people are here. As you can see it took three days for a response.
I am thinking about selling the engine and the extras though.
I saw your post the first day. But... I wasn't sure what your question was? So I didn't respond.... I still don't know what it is? Are you asking what kind of car you should put it in?
My avatar is the load tester I talk about from time to time.It is a 3157 bulb and socket wired to use both elements with some aligator clips. This rig pulls 2.6 amps my regular test lamp is .13 amps.I can email the picture to anyone if they want a closer look, just pm me with an email.
Sorry for my absence there has been alot going on, including a ruined computer. The fact is I do want to sell the engine, but my wife didn't. Now she does. We DO NOT have a set price!! We will consider most offers, as long as they are reasonable. We have had two guys look at it today and apparently where they are from, ford 427's are plentiful and can be had for $500 to $1000. We have one more guy coming over in the morning, and he sounds to be more knowledgable.
